Honda, the automaker best known for their Honda Civic, is reaching for the stars! The Japanese automaker is building and launching their first aircraft. However, Nalley Honda Brunswick in Brunswick, GA does not expect to be accepting pilot licenses anytime soon.
Though, producing and launching their first ever aircraft will allow the automaker to put their foot in the door into an entirely new market - air travel. The Honda F2 Aircraft has already finished months of testing, bringing it yet another step closer to certification of the HondaJet program.
"The first flight of a flight test aircraft is an important milestone for an aircraft certification program, and the fact that we achieved F2's first flight shortly after receiving its engines illustrates our team's preparation and readiness," said Michimasa Fujino, President and CEO of Honda Aircraft Company.1
The aircraft's flight was the product of extensive preparation and hard work, he continued, and further told us that flying in the F2 was without a doubt an "exhilarating" experience.
The Japanese automaker plans to fly two additional test aircrafts, F3 and F4, next year. Honda plans to begin structural testing this month, carrying through into the new year.
Maybe in the near future you will be checking into Honda Airlines for your next vacation.
